1939 National Register

The 1939 National Register was taken on the night of Friday 29th September, 1939.  This was to create an accurate register of everyone in the Country in the prelude to War.

The Schedule for TXIO includes the Parishes of Bedfield, Monk Soham as well as Kenton. Schedules 1 to 96 covers Bedfield, Schedules 97 to 149 cover Monk Soham and neither of these have been transcribed. Schedule 150 to 198 cover Kenton and transcriptions are complete.

There are are many people whose records are still closed, implying they are still alive and are therefore not (knowingly) on this website.

Experience has shown that some Birth Dates in the Register are a year out. It would appear that the Enumerator asked for peoples Birth day and month, but then asked them how old they were, rather than asking for the year of birth.
