She apparently used to drive a horse and trap and also ride her bicycle with her umbrella up. As she was the oldest she was the font of all knowledge about Debenham to the rest of her family and wish I had recorded her stories. She told of her Mother, Mary, giving food and drink to the local tramps in a back room. (None of the Corners drank apparently) The stream outside also used to flood I believe.

She used to tell us every Christmas day ‘It was the first motor wedding in Debenham’ (Wilfred was a baker at the time and I think they met as he delivered the bread) Wilfred was the son of Joseph & Lydia nee Toseland from North End Huntingdon. They lived at 9 Fuchsia Lane Ipswich. Their Daughter Majorie Lydia was my Mother – Born 24/09/1913 D 07/01/1995. I was born 14/07/1952 and was Baptised in Debenham.
